Lorraine W. Frank Lecture
The Lorraine W. Frank Lecture in the Humanities is presented annually to honor AHC’s founding executive director, and to recognize significant partners and cumulative contributions made to AHC with awards given by AHC’s Board of Directors. Lorraine Weiss Frank (1923-2005) oversaw the distribution of $3 million for cultural activities during her 16-year tenure, from 1973-1989, as executive director.
The lecture was established in 1990 to honor Lorraine Frank upon her retirement in 1989. It is intended to enhance awareness of the humanities through addresses by prominent speakers, and to bring together once a year the friends and supporters of Arizona’s humanities community. The 2008 lecture will take place in the Phoenix area. More information will be announced later this summer.
